Yes! All of our packaging is made from post-consumer recycled goods, and can be recycled.
We take responsibility for our environmental impact by choosing recyclable paper materials over plastic whenever possible, and reusable glass bottles instead of plastic.
Our Classic Candle and Tin Candle collections are packaged using absolutely no plastic whatsoever!
Our packing peanuts are not styrofoam, they are made of corn and completely compostable.
Our scented candles use a natural blend of coconut wax, soy wax and locally sourced Cowichan Valley beeswax. Coconut wax creates a smooth, creamy finish and beautiful scent throw, while beeswax supports a longer, steady burn.
Our sculptural beeswax candles are made with 100% locally sourced beeswax.
No! Definitely not. We use a 100% organic cotton wick in our beeswax candles. We use an organic, 100% natural non-toxic cotton core wick in our scented candles. Our Wooden Wicks are 100% Natural wood from Sappy Fruit Trees sustainably sourced in the USA. They are created from wood species not listed in the CITED appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
Our candles are designed for a long, clean burn.
Classic Candles offer 50+ hours of burn time. Crystal Candles offer 70+ hours of burn time. Tin Candles offer 40+ hours of burn time when cared for properly.
For the best performance, always follow the candle-care instructions and trim the wick before each burn.
Because of our carefully blended wax recipe, if you take care of your candle it will last for an exceptionally long time!
The first time you burn your candle, You will need to let it burn for at least 3 uninterrupted hours. This will ensure that the wax melts all the way to the edges of the jar. This is especially important for the first burn, as it creates a 'memory burn' which prevents tunnelling; ensuring you get to use all of the wax.
Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the jar before blowing out the flame. After 3 hours, extinguish your candle.
Keep the wick centred and wax free of debris
This one is very important:
Trim the wick to ¼” before each lighting. Trimming the wick will ensure that the candle burns evenly. It will eliminate any soot or char on the wick, and prevent any smoking of the wick.
If your wick smokes when extinguished, you didn’t trim your wick enough. Try blowing it out, trimming it, and relighting.
Make sure to burn your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface away from
drafts and flammable materials. When it's burning, keep your candle in sight, away from children and pets.
During use, the glass may become warm so allow it to cool before handling it.
Absolutely! Our vessels are food-grade glasses, but they can be used for whatever you would like. Try planting a seed in yours and watching it sprout!
Our Candles are deeply intentional and thoughtful pieces which are created and designed to last.
From the beginning, we have looked to the garden for inspiration.
Its fragrant herbs, abundant flowers and changing seasons guide everything we create. Using carefully chosen natural ingredients, each candle is poured by hand in small batches using traditional methods.
Our collection celebrates the beauty of the garden, and the simple pleasure of bringing it's colour, fragrance and atmosphere into your homes.

Each Classic Candle offers 50+ hours of burn time when cared for properly. Visit our candle-care questions above for tips on trimming the wick and getting an even burn.
Explore Beeswax Candles
Our beeswax candles are made by hand with locally sourced Vancouver Island beeswax in our Cowichan Valley studio.
Beeswax has a naturally warm glow and a soft, subtly sweet aroma created by nectar, honey and the work of the bees. No added fragrance is needed.
We use locally sourced Vancouver Island beeswax and make each candle in small batches in our Cowichan Valley studio.
The collection includes smooth and spiral tapers, pillar candles, hand-dipped chubby tapers and sculptural shapes inspired by farms, gardens and the harvest table.
Beeswax is a natural material, so small variations are expected. Those differences are part of what makes every candle slightly unique.
